Concept art for the game Edge of Combat from 2015-2016 (formerly 'Protostrike' during early development).
I worked as concept artist for the first iteration of the playable characters and map landmarks, before working full time as game designer.
A character that was discarded early on, but I still kinda like her more down to earth design.
These props were a bit overdesigned as they were created with a sort of deployment animation in mind, but in the end they just stood static in the level.
We actually had to tip these vehicles over in the level because players wanted to drive them.
A truck that would carry simple freight containers. It was designed with being able to play on top of it in mind.
A temple in the jungle demands a massive door.
Some more concepts for temple assets. The backstory was that people were looking for 'protonium', which was present in the game Modern Command too.
The temple was designed to have an upper and lower floor, and you'd be able to see the lower floor here. Didn't quite work out in the end once implemented.
Some app logos, we did a trial run and went with the middle one. It was tricky to get them readable at a small size.
